Sustainability stems from people and everyday actions
For us, sustainability is first and foremost a way of operating. It is reflected in everyday choices, long-term decisions and in how we develop our operations together with customers, partners and staff. In 2025, we continued to work determinedly toward more comprehensively sustainable logistics.
Overall environmental efficiency means taking a broad look at the impacts: from equipment and energy use to systems, operating models and people’s daily work. During the year, we focused on solutions that have a concrete impact on both the environment and the reliability of operations. The development of heavy vehicle charging infrastructure in Naantali, energy storage solutions, and the advancement of transportation planning and optimisation created the conditions needed to mitigate impacts and achieve better operational reliability. At the same time, we developed measurement and reporting to ensure that decision-making is based on increasingly accurate and comparable information.
Digitalisation and automation supported sustainability at the process level as well. System development and the utilisation of artificial intelligence help reduce errors, optimise resource use and improve safety throughout the supply chain. These solutions also add to our positive handprint: customers’ daily processes become more efficient, supply chains operate more predictably and resources are allocated more effectively.
Sustainability, however, is ultimately about people. The Ahola Way philosophy guides us to act responsibly, openly and with respect for others, both in everyday interactions and in long-term decision-making. In 2025, we focused on employee well-being, safety and developing competence. Ahola Academy plays a central role in these efforts. Its goal is to provide a practical and efficient training route, enabling people to quickly qualify as professional drivers and gain employment at Ahola. At the same time, we continued our traffic safety work, co-operation with schools and anti-bullying activities, through which we aim to have a positive impact outside our own work community as well.
Our work to enhance overall environmental efficiency and our positive handprint continues with the Ahola Way attitude – one step at a time.
